Three killed in illegal firecracker explosion in Siwan, SHO, Chowkidar suspended

Siwan, Oct 23 (UNI) Three people were killed in an explosion at an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit at Alampur village under Jamo Bazar police station area in Siwan district of Bihar on Friday.
Siwan Police Superintendent has suspended Jamo Bazar SHO and the local village chowkidar with immediate effect for dereliction in duty at the police station level.
According to a release issued by the Police Superintendent office, teams from the district administration, fire services, electricity department, dog squad and medical department were called to the spot. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has also been summoned for scientific investigation, the release added.
The area has been cordoned off, and evidence is being collected as part of the investigation.
In view of the seriousness of the incident, a special police team has been constituted under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Maharajganj, on the directions of the Superintendent of Police.
