Advocate shot dead in Katihar

Katihar, Oct 5 (UNI) An advocate, Guddu Ansari was was allegedly shot dead by unidentified assailants near Patel Chowk under Katihar Nagar police station area here today.
Katihar Superintendent of Police Parichay Kumar said here that the incident took place when the lawyer was on his way to court on a scooter wearing his advocate's uniform.
According to preliminary information, the assailants intercepted Ansari, made him fall on the road and opened fire at him before fleeing the spot. He died in the attack.
A video purportedly showing the incident has also surfaced.
Kumar reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and took stock of the situation.
He directed the police officials concerned to initiate necessary action and identify those involved in the killing.
The police have launched an investigation and are working to establish the motive behind the murder and identify the assailants. The SP said the perpetrators would be identified and arrested at the earliest. UNI XC RS SAS

Odisha police destroy cannabis worth Rs 419 crore
