Tripura: Three Bangladeshis with Indian tout apprehended at Agartala airport

Agartala, Sep 19 (UNI) Tripura Police haveapprehended four persons, including three Bangladeshi nationals and one alleged Indian facilitator, at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala, following the discovery that they lacked requisite documentation to substantiate their lawful entry into India.
Officers from Agartala Airport Police Station proceeded to the airport upon receiving notification regarding the questionable conduct of four individuals. The responding team identified one male and three female persons at the airport and took them into custody last evening for interrogative purposes.
During the interrogation process, the three women purportedly disclosed to authorities that they held Bangladeshi nationality. The male individual was subsequently identified as Mazarul Islam, domiciled in the Jatrapur locality of Tripura’s Sepahijala district.
Police said that the three women failed to furnish legitimate documentation permitting their lawful entry into India. Through investigative inquiry, it was established that Islam was ostensibly facilitating their subsequent transit to Guwahati via Agartala Airport.
All four individuals were transported to the police station for comprehensive interrogation, whereupon a formal case was initiated. According to police documentation, the three women are inhabitants of Khulna district in Bangladesh and allegedly crossed into India via the Sonamura border checkpoint in Sepahijala district.
Preliminary interrogation suggested that their objective was employment acquisition within India, though authorities indicated that their precise intentions and entry circumstances remain subject to ongoing investigation.
Police designated Mazarul Islam as a facilitator and presented him before the judiciary today, petitioning for a five-day custodial remand to facilitate extended interrogation. The investigation continues to ascertain the mechanisms through which the alleged unauthorized entry was enabled and to establish whether supplementary individuals are implicated in the suspected criminal network.
