Ex Tripura CM Manik Sarkar detained along with Left Party leaders by Delhi police

Agartala, Oct 10 (UNI) Former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, CPI(M) State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury, along with several other party leaders, were detained by Delhi Police during a protest march held in the national capital today.
They joined the demonstration in support of the ongoing agitation led by left-wing student and youth organizations, responding to the call of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) seeking removal of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, CPI (M) State Secretary Chaudhury said on a Facebook Live.
Reports from supporters of the protest indicated that extensive security measures were in place throughout the morning, with police and paramilitary forces deployed across numerous locations.
Chaudhury said the headquarters of the CPI (M), A K Gopalan Bhavan, was enveloped by security forces as party leaders and their supporters readied themselves to engage in the protest.
"We were transported in a bus to an undisclosed location, and we are gradually getting disconnected from the internet network. Details regarding the reasons for their detention, the legal justification presented by the police, and whether they were later released were not available to me as of now," Chaudhury maintained.
In response to the recent developments, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Nitin Nabin, alleged that opposition groups are attempting to create instability and disrupt public order.
Nabin said that efforts were being made to create a perilous environment in India and instigate unrest among its 1.4 billion citizens. Two factions were engaged in attempts to incite disorder - one by Rahul Gandhi and the opposition INDIA coalition, the other linked to the Citizens for Justice and Peace and Arvind Kejriwal's political associates.
Nabin alleged that the opposition has not come to terms with their electoral losses and is instead trying to undermine the democratic mandate by instigating unrest.
