Jharkhand governor stresses timely exams, research at Kolhan varsity

Chaibasa, Sep 29 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Tuesday stressed timely academic sessions, examinations and results at universities while calling for greater focus on research, innovation and access to higher education for girls.
Addressing the seventh convocation of Kolhan University here, Gangwar said a convocation was not merely an occasion to receive degrees but also an opportunity to resolve to connect education with responsibility and socially useful work.
He said greater priority should be given to girls’ education, particularly in rural and tribal areas, and stressed the need to strengthen access to higher education, hostels, scholarships, safe academic environments and skill development opportunities for them.
