Polling stations for upcoming Tripura ULB elections published

Agartala, Sep 20 (UNI) Tripura State Election Commission has finalised the process for polling stations in all 21 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state, establishing the foundation for the forthcoming civic elections, expected to take place at the end of 2026.
According to State Election Commission Secretary Anurag Sen, the notification, which includes polling stations for each of the 21 ULBs, including Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Municipal Councils, and Nagar Panchayats, has been released.
Based on the draft notification, a total of 784 polling stations have been recommended throughout the 21 urban local bodies in the state.
The designated District Magistrates and Collectors, serving as District Municipal Election Officers, have communicated the draft polling stations in their areas of responsibility.
Sen mentioned that the Commission has welcomed claims and objections from stakeholders concerning the suggested polling stations.
The cut-off date for submitting claims and objections is September 21, after which the relevant urban local body authorities will review and resolve them by September 23.
The final notification for polling stations is anticipated to be released on September 25, stated Sen. However, the State Election Commission has not provided the comprehensive schedule for the civic elections.
He remarked that the election process necessitates approval from the appropriate authorities and the fulfilment of various formalities. The comprehensive election timeline and guidelines will be shared once the required approvals are received. UNI BB SAS
