Arunachal: Flash floods hit Upper Subansiri; over 100 houses affected, no casualty reported

Itanagar, May 30 (UNI) Flash floods triggered by incessant heavy rains have caused significant destruction in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district, with the Sigin River overflowing and inundating several low-lying areas.
District officials on Friday confirmed that at least 117 houses — both RCC and semi-RCC structures — have been affected, along with other key infrastructures. The worst-hit areas include Polo Colony, Sigum Rijo, Sigin Colony, Bukpen Colony, and Forest Colony, which fall within the catchment area of the Sigin River.
Additionally, a house was swept away on Thursday, but no human casualties have been reported except for property loss.
