Guv honours three Armed Forces units with citation for exemplary service in Arunachal

Itanagar, May 31 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik presented the Governor’s Citation to three distinguished Armed Forces units — 13 Rajputana Rifles, 9 Grenadiers, and 31 Assam Rifles — at the Vivekananda Hall of Raj Bhavan here on Saturday, in recognition of their outstanding professionalism, operational excellence, and close coordination with the district administrations and local communities.
Col Sangam Kumar, Commanding Officer, along with Subedar Major Bhom Singh Rathore and Agniveer Vibin A, received the Governor’s Citation for the 13th Battalion of The Rajputana Rifles (Thundering Thirteen). For the 9th Battalion of the Grenadiers Regiment (Mewar), Col Saurabh Sharma, Subedar Major Mahaveer, and Grenadier Dharamveer received the honour. Col Dushyant Singh Lamba, Subedar Major Banwari Lal Sharma, and Rifleman K I Singh accepted the citation for the 31st Battalion of Assam Rifles.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor commended the dedication and professionalism of the units for their steadfast commitment to operational duties. He lauded their tireless efforts in safeguarding the sanctity of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and ensuring effective border management along the sensitive Indo-Myanmar frontier.
