Jharkhand: Food safety department launches drive against 115 products

Ranchi, Sep 13 (UNI) The Jharkhand Food Safety Department has launched a drive to remove 115 food products from the market following directions from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), officials said today.
The products were identified by FSSAI over alleged misleading claims, mislabelling and other violations. A public notice issued by the Ranchi food safety authorities directed food business operators, distributors, retailers and e-commerce platforms to immediately withdraw existing stocks of the identified products.
The department said non-compliance with the directions, misleading advertisements or misbranding would invite legal action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, including Sections 52 and 53.
