TPCODL launches mobile health dispensary to expand healthcare access in rural Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 23 (UNI) In a significant step towards strengthening rural healthcare and making essential medical services more accessible to underserved communities, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has launched its fourth Mobile Health Dispensary (MHD) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, ‘Aarogya’.
The initiative reaffirms the company’s commitment to community welfare by extending basic healthcare services to people in remote and rural areas across its operational jurisdiction in Odisha.
The newly launched Mobile Health Dispensary was inaugurated by Gajanan Kale, Chief of Odisha Distribution Business and CEO of TPCODL, in the presence of senior company officials at the organisation’s corporate office in Bhubaneswar.
The fourth mobile dispensary is expected to benefit more than 30,000 people across 120 Gram Panchayats under the Bhubaneswar-II Circle, covering the Nayagarh, Balugaon and Khordha Electrical Divisions. The unit will operate according to a pre-designed schedule to ensure that healthcare services reach communities in a planned and systematic manner.
Equipped with a qualified MBBS doctor and medical support staff, the Mobile Health Dispensary will provide free medical consultations, health check-ups, treatment, prescriptions and medicines to people in need.
The initiative will also facilitate referrals to other healthcare facilities wherever necessary, enabling beneficiaries to access further medical attention. In addition to treatment services, the dispensary will organise community awareness sessions focusing on preventive healthcare, personal hygiene, nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices.
Through these interventions, TPCODL aims to encourage early identification of health concerns, promote preventive care and improve overall health awareness among rural communities.
TPCODL stated that its Mobile Health Dispensary initiative has already positively served more than six lakh beneficiaries across its operational areas since its inception. The launch of the fourth unit is expected to further strengthen the company's efforts to bridge gaps in access to essential healthcare, particularly among rural and underserved populations.
Speaking on the occasion, Gajanan Kale said, “It has been our constant endeavour to extend our support and build a healthy community. This Mobile Health Dispensary is a testament to our commitment to enabling better and easier access to good healthcare,he said adding that TPCODL will continue to work actively through various CSR initiatives towards the holistic development of society.”
He further emphasised that, through its CSR initiatives, the company is committed to addressing barriers to basic healthcare services, especially in rural and underserved communities, while promoting health awareness, preventive care and overall well-being.
