Revenue employee sentenced to 4 years in bribery case

Patna, Sept 15 (UNI) Special Vigilance Judge Atul Kumar Singh on Tuesday sentenced a revenue employee Amrendra Kumar Sinha to four years of rigorous imprisonment in connection with a bribery case.
The Judge convicted Sinha, who was posted as a revenue employee in the Phulwari Circle of Patna, under various provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 18,000 against the convict.
If the convict fails to pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional three months of imprisonment.
According to Kishore Kumar Singh, Special Public Prosecutor in charge of trap cases, vigilance officials arrested Sinha red-handed on January 23, 2015, while he was accepting a Rs 9,000 bribe at his private office in the Sipara area of Patna.
The bribe was allegedly demanded in exchange for transferring the name in land records (mutation).
