Jharkhand High Court to launch Rs 35 crore data centre

Ranchi, Oct 31 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court will inaugurate a Rs 35 crore data centre and launch six digital initiatives on November 2 to strengthen judicial infrastructure and improve access to court services.
The Chief Justice of India will inaugurate the data centre at Dhurwa in Ranchi. The initiatives include a new High Court website, an iOS mobile application for the High Court and civil courts, an online certified-copy application facility, a personalised cause list for advocates, and distribution of Dragon speech-to-text software and Supreme Today AI software to judicial officers.
The data centre will provide technological infrastructure for the High Court and subordinate judiciary, with high-performance servers, centralised storage and backup systems, network security, fire protection and uninterrupted power supply.
It will support the Case Information System, Document Management System, electronic judicial records, video-conferencing and other services under the e-Courts Mission Mode Project.
The online certified-copy facility will enable advocates and litigants to apply for judicial documents without repeated visits to court premises. The iOS application will provide access to case status, cause lists, orders, judgments and other court-related services.
Dragon software will facilitate voice-based preparation of judgments and orders, while Supreme Today AI is intended to assist judicial officers in legal research and access to precedents.
The Jharkhand Government's departments of Information Technology and e-Governance, Law and Building Construction have provided financial and logistical support. JAP-IT has extended technological assistance for the data centre.
