Jharkhand Governor, CM pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi

Ranchi, Oct 2 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Vatika in Morabadi here on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Gangwar and Soren garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and paid their respects. Soren said Gandhi's ideas and philosophy would continue to guide humanity for generations.
He said the state government was committed to the welfare and overall development of people at the last rung of society while following Gandhi's principles.
Gangwar said Gandhi's messages of truth, non-violence and cleanliness would continue to inspire people. Gandhi's life and ideals encouraged humanity, peace, harmony and social service, he said.
Gangwar also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary at Lok Bhavan.
He said Shastri's simple life, honesty and sense of duty would continue to inspire the people.
Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, MP Sanjay Seth, MLA Kalpana Soren and senior administrative officials also paid tributes at Bapu Vatika.
