Tejaswi exhorts to unite to protect Waqf, Constitution, voting rights & defeat BJP's conspiracies

Patna, June 29 (UNI) Exhorting the people to unite to protect Waqf, Constitution, voting rights and defeat to BJP's conspiracies, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, today thundered that his party would fight against the Waqf bill and would launch a tirade to defeat BJP's conspiracies for encroaching on the Constitution and voting rights.
While addressing a conference at Gandhi Maidan organised to "Save Waqf – Save Constitution" organised by Imarat-e-Shariah and other Muslim religious organizations under the leadership of Ameer-e-Shariat Maulana Faisal Wali Rahmani, the RJD leader said that the country is not anyone's personal property and emphasized that people from all communities sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle.
Strongly opposing the Waqf bill, Yadav, sharing the legacy of the freedom struggle, said that every inch of this land, from north to south, and every page of its history, bears testimony to the fact that whether Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian everyone made sacrifices for the freedom of this nation.
This country does not belong to any one individual or group; it belongs to all and people from all backgrounds and the martyrs like Ashfaqulla Khan and Bhagat Singh sacrificed their lives for this nation.
In the name of Waqf bill, the Centre was trying to take away the land of the pool of a particular community, he alleged and roared that his party would never let any such move succeed.
Pointing towards a recent notification of the Election Commission, for re-preparing the voters’ list, Yadav alleged that it is an attempt to take away voting rights of minorities, the poor, backward classes, extremely backward, and dalits.
He said that a new voter list of eight crore people will be prepared in just 25 days and warned the people to remain cautious so that no one’s name is omitted as the removal could lead to the loss of citizenship rights, including pension, ration, scholarships and other welfare benefits.
Cautioning the people about the BJP's move, the RJD leader thundered that he would fight against any such attempt till the end.
He added that BJP’s conspiracies can be defeated through collective awareness and resistance.
