Hemant Soren, Keshav Mahato Kamlesh leave for Delhi for November 1 rally

Ranchi, Oct 30 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and state Congress president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh on Friday left for New Delhi to participate in the INDIA bloc's ‘Vote Bachao-Desh Bachao’ rally scheduled at Ramlila Maidan on November 1, with the Congress claiming that thousands of party workers from across the state were also heading to the national capital.
Soren left Ranchi by a special aircraft along with his wife and Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, and security officer Ajay Kumar, according to information from the Chief Minister's Office. He is scheduled to attend the rally, which has been called to raise concerns over alleged irregularities and deletion of names from electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
The rally is being organised by the INDIA bloc, with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi expected to lead the programme.
Meanwhile, Mahato Kamlesh also departed for Delhi from Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi to participate in the rally. Jharkhand Congress media in-charge Rakesh Sinha said party leaders and workers from all districts were travelling to Delhi by buses, trains, and private vehicles.
He said the state Congress had made extensive arrangements to ensure participation from district and block levels, adding that thousands of party workers were joining the programme to raise issues concerning democracy, constitutional values and citizens' rights.
The Jharkhand Congress had earlier claimed that around 12,000 workers from the state would attend the rally.
The SIR issue is also expected to figure in the special sittings of the Jharkhand Assembly scheduled for November 25 and 26.
