BJP holds meeting for upcoming ULB elections in Tripura

Agartala, Oct 02 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today urged BJP leaders and workers to increase preparations for the upcoming urban local body elections and stay active at the grassroots level.
Dr Saha was chairing a party meeting here along with State BJP president Abhishek Debroy, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath. CM said that talks focused on the Municipal Corporation, municipalities and Nagar Panchayats elections.
He said the election committees had not been set up yet. State party president Abhishek Debroy will announce them once the process is complete. The discussion was mainly on this issue and on how we will prepare for the upcoming elections, particularly by bringing the workers together, Dr Saha said.
The Chief Minister recalled the BJP's results in the last urban local body elections, when it won across the municipalities, including the Agartala Municipal Corporation and Nagar Panchayats. With the next polls posing another major task for the party, Dr Saha called on workers to stay active and focused.
