Prez, PM & Odisha CM extend greetings on Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar, June 27 (UNI) President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi have extended their heartfelt greetings to devotees on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra.

President Droupadi Murmu conveyed her wishes to the people on the occasion of the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and prayed for an atmosphere of peace, harmony, and brotherhood across the world.

Taking to her official X handle, the President said, “On the occasion of the holy Rath Yatra, I extend my heartfelt best wishes to the devotees of Mahaprabhu Jagannath living in India and abroad.”

Murmu further said that during the annual yatra, the chariots of Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath are pulled from the Shri Jagannath Temple to the Shree Gundicha Temple in Puri.

Lakhs of devotees gather to take part in the grand festival, and similar yatras are also held in various parts of the country, she added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his warm wishes to the people on the sacred occasion of Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra.

“My heartfelt best wishes to all fellow countrymen. May this holy festival of faith and devotion bring happiness, prosperity, good fortune, and excellent health to everyone's life. Jai Jagannath!” he said.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed the devotees and pilgrims arriving in Sri Kshetra Puri for the world-famous Rath Yatra.

Posting on his official X handle, the Chief Minister urged people to participate in the Rath Yatra with discipline and devotion, and to seek the blessings of the Lord by having the divine darshan of Ratharudha (the Lord seated on the chariot). #RathYatra2025
