Laser lights within 10 km radius of Imphal airport banned

Imphal, June 12 (UNI) The District Magistrate Imphal West, on Thursday ordered a ban on the use of laser lights within a 10 km radius of Imphal International airport.
The DM M Rajkumar said in a notice that the Airfield Environment Management Committee of the Imphal International Airport took the decision, and the areas covered were Mongsangei, Sangaiprou, Ningombam, Malom Tuliyaima, Malom Tulihal, Meitram, Langthabal Lep, Ghari, Taobungkhok, Yarou Bamdiar, and Kodompokpi, all of Imphal West.
He said use of laser lights, both laser pointers and laser shows, is prohibited within a radius of 10 km of the Imphal International Airport. This ban is implemented to prevent visual distractions to pilots and ensure flight safety.
