Suvendu wishes Modi on 76th birthday as BJP launches month-long Seva Sankalp campaign

Kolkata, Sept 17 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP launched its month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ across the state and the country to mark the Prime Minister’s 76th birthday and 25 years of his public service.
In a social media post on Thursday, Adhikari wrote in Bengali, “Heartiest birthday greetings and respectful salutations to one of the world’s most powerful leaders, India’s illustrious Prime Minister.”
The chief minister also shared a special video along with his message.
In West Bengal, the BJP marked the beginning of the campaign with a series of social service activities.
Senior BJP leader and state Panchayat Minister Dilip Ghosh participated in programmes in Medinipur on Thursday.
Ghosh visited Medinipur Medical College and Hospital in the morning and met patients undergoing treatment there. He distributed fruits among them before leaving the hospital premises.
Later, earthen lamps were distributed among people at Battala Chowk in Medinipur town.
Ghosh appealed to citizens and BJP workers and supporters to light lamps at their homes between 6 pm and 7 pm on Thursday to pray for Modi’s long life and good health.
The BJP has planned a range of programmes under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17.
The initiative will include outreach programmes involving young people, beneficiaries of government schemes and various social groups, with increasing youth participation identified as one of its key objectives.
Meanwhile, a ‘Seva Sankalp’ motorcycle rally will begin in Varanasi on Thursday and travel to Vadnagar in Gujarat, Modi’s birthplace.
Around 500 people are expected to participate in the journey on 250 motorcycles.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will flag off the rally from Varanasi, Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency.
Several programmes have also been planned in Varanasi ahead of the rally.
The BJP has said the month-long campaign will focus on public outreach and social service activities rather than being confined to the motorcycle rally.
