Odisha: Rs 3,406-crore SiCSem semiconductor project approved

Bhubaneswar, Sep 15 (UNI) The Unit Approval Committee (UAC) has approved a Rs 3,406.25-crore proposal by SiCSem Private Limited to set up a silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor manufacturing unit at IDCO Infovalley-II in Khordha district, marking another major push to Odisha’s emerging semiconductor ecosystem.
The project, approved at the UAC’s 217th meeting, will come up on 21.889 acres at Arisol Mouza under Jatni tehsil and will operate under the Falta Special Economic Zone (FSEZ).
The proposed facility will manufacture SiC semiconductor devices, including diodes and MOSFETs, with an annual production capacity of 4.8 million SiC diodes and 91.2 million SiC MOSFETs.
