Manipur: Two women killed, several missing in attack

Imphal, Sep 15 (UNI) Two women were allegedly killed and several others were reported missing following an attack by unknown armed persons at Leisang Kuki village under Tousem Sub-Division in Tamenglong district today, according to police sources.

Both the women were reportedly working on a farm when the attack occurred.
Earlier on September 13, four persons were also killed at Tamenglong and Noney districts.
Police said operations against drug and militancy during the last 24 hours led to the arrest of an extortionist and three other persons involved in drug and theft cases.
Manipur Police yesterday arrested two residents of Lilong Nungei, Thoubal district identified as Md. Faruk and Khusida, and 50 boxes containing 15,000 capsules of a banned drug weighing about seven kg were also seized.
In a separate operation today, Manipur Police arrested a person for alleged involvement in a theft case.
