Three killed, three injured after dumper hits crane and auto in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Three people were killed and three others injured after a dumper truck crashed into a stationary crane and an auto-rickshaw in southeast Delhi's Sarita Vihar early Sunday, police said.
The accident took place at around 3:20 am when the dumper, bearing registration number HR37AJ7110, was travelling from Noida and rammed into the crane and auto-rickshaw, which were stationary at the site.
The vehicles were being used by workers involved in installing CCTV cameras for traffic police when the collision occurred, police said.
The deceased were identified as Umesh, 23, and Praveen, 35, both residents of Sangam Vihar, and Suraj, 34, an HR manager. Police said further details about Suraj were being obtained from his employer, according to the incident brief.
Three others, Akash (20), son of Narender; Anup (26), son of Surender, both residents of Sangam Vihar; and Khem Singh (40), son of Pooran Singh, a resident of Rohini, sustained injuries in the accident.
Another worker, Sudhir, son of Kaledeen and a resident of Sangam Vihar, escaped unhurt. The dumper driver fled the spot following the collision and remains untraced. Police have initiated an investigation and efforts are underway to establish the circumstances leading to the accident and trace the driver.
