Car drags parked bike in RK Puram, rider escapes unhurt

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) A 21-year-old man sitting on his parked motorcycle escaped with no serious injuries after a car hit his bike and dragged it for some distance on Africa Avenue Road in south Delhi's RK Puram, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place around 10 pm on Thursday on the stretch between Bhikaji Cama Place and RK Puram Metro station. Police said they received information at 10.22 pm and reached the spot.
According to police, Tanish Tokas, a resident of Munirka village, was sitting on his motorcycle parked on the roadside when a Honda Amaze allegedly driven by 73-year-old Venu Gopal, a resident of Vasant Kunj, hit the two-wheeler.
"The impact caused Tokas to fall off. The car then dragged the motorcycle for some distance," an officer said, adding that Tokas was not dragged along with the bike.
Tokas was medically examined and found to have no serious injuries, police said.
A case has been registered at RK Puram police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 125(a) (act endangering life) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The car has been seized and Gopal was apprehended. He was medically examined and no alcohol was detected, police said.
