Shramik Seva Kendras, mega blood donation camp, 108 kund yagya & 1.25 lakh diyas to mark PM Modi's birthday: Delhi CM

New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) Centred on service, dedication and public participation, the Rekha Gupta government is set to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on Thursday by organizing programs that include lighting of 1.25 lakh diyas at Kartavya Path, a mega blood donation camp at Thyagaraj Stadium, a 108-kund yagya at Khatu Shyami Dham and the launch of the ‘Shramik Seva Kendra’ for workers.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that her government will run a month long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to mark 25 years of the Prime Minister Modi's public life, and during this period, various projects related to transport, roads, sewerage, water treatment, education, electricity, public facilities and urban beautification will be inaugurated and foundation stones laid.
At 7 pm on Thursday, 1.25 lakh diyas will be lit at Kartavya Path by beneficiaries of government schemes and others, led by Chief Minister. The lamps lit together will symbolise citizens’ wishes, blessings, participation and commitment to serving the nation, CM said, urging residents of the national capital to light a diya at their homes for the Prime Minister between 6 pm and 7 pm on Thursday.
As part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a mega blood donation camp will be held at Thyagaraj Stadium from 11 am to 5 pm on Thursday, with a target of collecting 2,500 units of blood. Blood banks from 11 Delhi government hospitals, along with the Army Hospital, Lady Hardinge College, Safdarjung Hospital and the Indian Red Cross Society, will participate in the camp.
People associated with the Health Department, Delhi Police, Home Guards and Civil Defence, DTC, Revenue Department, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, NDMC, Delhi Fire Service, Education Department, Red Cross, NGOs, RWAs and the corporate sector will also donate blood.
A 108-kund yagya will be organised at Khatu Shyam Delhi Dham on GT Karnal Road, Alipur, while visually impaired children will also recite the Hanuman Chalisa in chorus on the occasion.
The Delhi government will launch the ‘Namo Shramik Seva Kendra’ for workers, and these centres will provide assistance with registration and renewal, document verification, information on application status and various welfare schemes, as well as guidance on claims and other services, all at one place.
The Chief Minister said the government’s objective is to ensure that workers do not have to make repeated trips to government offices for services and that essential services are instead made available closer to them.
Gupta has extended birthday wishes to PM Modi, adding that he had risen from a humble family background to the office of Prime Minister through hard work, patriotism and dedication. She said that over 25 years in public life, from serving as the Gujarat CM, to becoming the PM, he has accorded the highest priority to serving the nation. UNI APS CDS
