Alert CISF personnel detect over 1.5 kg of suspected gold concealed by passenger at IGI airport

New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) Alert Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel detected gold weighing approximately 1.597 kg concealed in the undergarments of an international transfer passenger at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Delhi.
The passenger was travelling on an international transfer from Jeddah to Dhaka. During routine frisking, CISF staff on security duty observed three oval-shaped capsules concealed by the passenger.
Acting promptly on this observation, the capsules were isolated for examination, which revealed a gold-like substance inside. It was subsequently assessed by Customs officials as weighing approximately 1.597 kg, and the passenger, along with the recovered capsules, was handed over for further legal action.
