Illegal liquor cases more than double in Delhi, 730 arrests in five months: Govt

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Delhi's Excise Department registered 725 FIRs and arrested 730 people for allegedly selling or transporting illegal liquor between April and August this year, more than double the cases recorded during the corresponding period last year, said officials from the Chief Minister's Office on Sunday.
The department seized 197 vehicles and recovered around 2.20 lakh bottles of illegal liquor during these five months.
In comparison, 315 FIRs were registered and 312 people arrested between April and August 2025. The department had seized 112 vehicles and recovered around one lakh bottles of illegal liquor during that period, officials said.
