PM Modi thanks Kovind, Naidu & Deve Gowda; reiterates ‘Viksit Bharat’ resolve

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today thanked former President Ram Nath Kovind, former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda for their birthday greetings, using his responses to underline his stated emphasis on dignity, opportunity, empowerment and the collective efforts of citizens in building a prosperous and developed India.
Modi, who turned 76 today, also expressed gratitude to people across the country for their messages, affection and blessings, saying the goodwill had given him “renewed strength” to continue serving the people.
Responding to former President Ram Nath Kovind’s greetings, he said, “Thank you for your warm wishes and thoughtful words, Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji.”
The Prime Minister said his government’s efforts had remained focused on ensuring “dignity, opportunity and empowerment for every Indian”, particularly those who had remained on the margins for a long time.
“It has been a constant effort towards ensuring dignity, opportunity and empowerment for every Indian, particularly those who remained on the margins for far too long,” he said. “Our collective resolve is to continue working with even greater dedication towards building a strong and developed India.”
In his response to former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Modi linked the country’s development journey to the aspirations, enterprise and collective efforts of its citizens.
“Venkaiah Ji, my gratitude for your warm wishes,” the Prime Minister said. “The journey of building a prosperous India draws its strength from the aspirations, enterprise and collective efforts of 140 crore Indians.”
Modi also thanked former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda for his greetings and acknowledged his long association with public life.
“Thank you Deve Gowda Ji for your thoughtful greetings. Your long years of service to the nation and commitment to public life are deeply inspiring for everyone,” he said.
In a separate message, Modi thanked people across the country for the birthday wishes he received during the day and connected the occasion with the broader theme of public participation in nation-building.
“My heartfelt gratitude for the wishes, affection and blessings that have poured in from all across,” Modi said. “Every word of warmth is deeply cherished and gives me renewed strength to serve our people.”
He also acknowledged those who participated in “Seva” activities on his birthday, saying, “I also appreciate everyone engaged in Seva activities throughout the day.”
“Let us together continue to build a Viksit Bharat,” he added.
Modi’s birthday has traditionally been marked by programmes and public-service initiatives organised by the BJP and his supporters, with such activities frequently being presented as an expression of public participation in nation-building.
His messages today similarly brought together several themes that have featured prominently in his government’s development narrative, including dignity, empowerment, citizen participation, self-reliance and the objective of building a “Viksit Bharat”.
The birthday greetings came from political leaders and public figures across the political spectrum. In responding to them, Modi used the occasion not only to acknowledge the individual messages but also to reiterate his stated emphasis on the role of citizens in India’s development journey and the goal of transforming the country into a developed nation.
