PM Modi's vision placing national interest at heart of governance

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of placing the national interest and the welfare of citizens at the heart of governance, has given a new direction and confidence to India’s democratic journey.
Addressing the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, Gupta highlighted that Modi’s public life represents a journey of dedication, selfless service, commitment to the nation and deep respect for India’s civilizational heritage.
At the Conference, Speaker Gupta met Dr. Christopher Kalila, Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee, and presented him with the book “Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi”, commemorating PM Modi's life, leadership and decades of public service.
Gupta said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has sought to harmonise its democratic strength, rich cultural heritage and global responsibilities. He emphasised that the spirit of public service and the commitment to democratic values continue to inspire country's engagement with parliamentary institutions across the Commonwealth and the wider international community.
Dr. Christopher Kalila expressed his appreciation for the thoughtful gesture, and aknowledged India’s vibrant parliamentary traditions and its significant contribution to parliamentary cooperation within the Commonwealth.
According to Gupta, the meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the shared commitment of Commonwealth countries towards strengthening democratic institutions, deepening parliamentary exchanges and learning from one another’s experiences. UNI APS CDS
