Kharge pays tribute to Shastri, recalls his simplicity, integrity and Nation-building legacy

New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) Congress President and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday paid tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary, recalling his simplicity, integrity and unwavering dedication to national service and describing his life as an “extraordinary example” of devotion to India.
In a post on social media platform X, Kharge said Shastri, India’s second prime minister, remained a symbol of “simplicity, integrity and national service” whose contribution to the country’s development continued to be remembered.
“Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, the former Prime Minister and a symbol of simplicity, integrity and national service, led a life that stands as an extraordinary example of dedication to India,” Kharge said.
