PM Modi to launch Global Renewable Energy Summit in Delhi, 130 countries to participate

New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the four-day Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Monday, November 2, bringing together governments, global investors, technology providers and industry leaders from more than 130 countries to explore investment opportunities and strengthen international cooperation in the clean energy sector.
Modi will inaugurate the summit at around 4.30 pm and address the gathering, according to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday. The November 2-5 event, being organised under the theme ‘Invest. Innovate. Inspire.’, is expected to provide an important international platform for mobilising investments, encouraging technological innovation and accelerating the global transition towards renewable energy.
More than 40 ministers are expected to participate in the summit, alongside policymakers, representatives of financial institutions, investors and senior industry executives. Nine countries and regional partners — Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom — will participate as Country Partners, underscoring the growing international engagement with India's renewable energy ambitions.
Thirteen States and union Territories — Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal — will showcase their renewable energy potential, manufacturing capabilities and investment opportunities. The participation is expected to highlight the range of opportunities available across India's clean energy landscape for both domestic and international investors.
The summit will coincide with two major international gatherings — the ninth session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the fourth International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH). Together, the three events are expected to provide a comprehensive platform for discussions on financing, technology development, institutional cooperation and the scaling up of clean energy solutions.
While Bharat RE 2026 will focus on investments, industrial participation and technology partnerships across the renewable energy value chain, the ISA Assembly will deliberate on strengthening international cooperation in solar energy, particularly in financing and institutional capacity. The green hydrogen conference will bring together stakeholders to discuss emerging technologies, investment opportunities and strategies for expanding production and deployment.
The organisers see the convergence of these three platforms as an opportunity to align international efforts towards accelerating the adoption of clean energy technologies and mobilising the financial and technological resources required for sustainable energy systems.
Building on the experience of RE-INVEST, India's flagship renewable energy investment summit, Bharat RE 2026 seeks to widen the country's engagement with global investors, technology providers and industry stakeholders. Its programme will feature plenary sessions, ministerial-level deliberations, chief executive officer roundtables and dedicated country- and state-level discussions.
Business-to-business, business-to-government and government-to-government engagements will form a key part of the proceedings, with an emphasis on facilitating investments, developing strategic partnerships and translating discussions into concrete projects.
The accompanying exhibition will feature more than 400 exhibitors showcasing advanced technologies, Indian manufacturing capabilities and innovative clean energy solutions. The displays will cover a broad spectrum of the renewable energy ecosystem, including solar and wind power, green hydrogen, energy storage and other emerging technologies.
The gathering comes as India seeks to expand its renewable energy capacity, strengthen domestic manufacturing and attract greater international capital and technological expertise.
With governments, investors and industry leaders converging in the national capital, Bharat RE 2026 is expected to provide fresh impetus to India's efforts to position itself as a major destination for clean energy investments and an important partner in the global transition towards sustainable energy.
