PM Modi to inaugurate 3-day Science and Innovation Conclave in Delhi on Tuesday

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday, October 27, bringing together leading scientists, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders and international experts to discuss emerging technologies and India’s scientific research and innovation priorities.
Modi will inaugurate the three-day event at 5.30 pm and address the gathering, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday. The conclave, scheduled to run from October 27 to 29, aims to strengthen India’s scientific capabilities, promote technological innovation and facilitate the translation of research breakthroughs into practical applications.
The deliberations will span 12 thematic areas, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, climate and ocean sciences. Scientists, academics, industry representatives, start-ups and international experts are expected to exchange ideas on technological advancements, emerging research priorities and opportunities for innovation across critical sectors.
A major attraction will be a technology and innovation exhibition showcasing indigenous scientific achievements and emerging technologies. Around 150 stalls featuring deep-tech start-ups will highlight innovations and their potential applications across industries, underlining the growing importance of technology-driven enterprises in addressing complex economic and societal challenges.
The exhibition will feature thematic videos, technology demonstrations, documentaries and informational kiosks, alongside augmented and virtual reality experiences intended to give visitors an interactive understanding of scientific developments and their real-world applications.
A key feature of ESTIC 2026 will be the introduction of the Global Connect Networking Event, which is expected to bring together more than 300 invited participants from academic institutions, research organisations and industry in India and abroad. The initiative aims to foster international research partnerships, strengthen collaboration between universities and industry, and explore ways to accelerate the journey of scientific discoveries from laboratories to the marketplace.
The networking initiative is also expected to provide researchers, entrepreneurs and industry representatives with opportunities to identify common research interests, exchange expertise and develop collaborative approaches to emerging technological challenges.
The conclave comes at a time of intensifying global competition in strategic technologies such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology and advanced materials. Governments worldwide are seeking to strengthen domestic research ecosystems, expand technological capabilities and reduce dependence on external sources for critical innovations.
For India, closer coordination among scientific institutions, policymakers, businesses and international research organisations is increasingly important to translate scientific advances into industrial growth and practical solutions. By bringing these stakeholders together, ESTIC 2026 seeks to strengthen engagement across the country’s research and innovation ecosystem and promote closer links between scientific discovery, industrial development and commercial application.
The three-day gathering will place emerging technologies, indigenous innovation and collaborative research at the centre of discussions on India’s future science and technology priorities, with an emphasis on building capabilities that can support economic development and address wider societal challenges.
