Rahul Gandhi launches ‘Satyagraha’ platform to link citizens’ struggles with national debate

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched a new public platform, ‘Satyagraha’, around the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, seeking to connect people across India who are using peaceful resistance to raise their voices against injustice and demand that their concerns be heard.
Unveiled around Gandhi Jayanti, the initiative draws on Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of truth, non-violence and resistance to injustice. The Congress said the platform was intended to carry the spirit of Satyagraha into contemporary struggles being waged by citizens over a range of local and national issues.
“Across India, people are standing up against injustice. As Leader of the Opposition, your fight is my fight,” Rahul Gandhi said while announcing the initiative. “It’s time for a new Satyagraha. Tell me the issues you’re fighting for. I am listening.”
