Rahul Gandhi accuses BJP of ‘stealing’ Gokul mandate, changing rules to capture dairy board

New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday accused the BJP of attempting to overturn the electoral verdict in the Kolhapur District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, popularly known as Gokul Dairy, by changing the rules after the election to secure control of its board despite losing the contest.
In a strongly worded post on social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the BJP had resorted to altering the composition and strength of the cooperative's board after failing to win the confidence of milk producers, describing the move as an attempt to steal their votes and subvert the democratic mandate.
“The milk producers defeated the BJP in Gokul. So the BJP changed the rules after the election — bring in four directors, increase 12 to 16 and steal the majority. This is theft of the milk producers’ votes and adulteration of the public mandate,” he said.
