Rain, thunderstorms bring relief to Delhi; IMD issues yellow alert

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) Fresh rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds lashed parts of Delhi on Saturday evening, bringing relief from the heat as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for several districts, cautioning residents about further showers and gusty winds.
The IMD forecast generally cloudy skies across the national capital, with one or two spells of very light to light rain at many places and moderate showers at isolated locations.
The rainfall was likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds blowing at 30-40 kmph, with speeds potentially reaching 50 kmph during the evening and night.
