9 charred alive in a bus fire on Yamuna Expressway

Greater Noida, Sept 24 (UNI) In a tragic accident in Greater Noida, nine people were charred alive in a moving private bus after it suddenly caught fire late Wednesday night near Jewar Airport on the Yamuna Expressway.
Several others were injured, who have been hospitalised. Police are investigating the incident. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognisance of the incident.
According to reports, the accident occurred around midnight. The bus had travelled about 34 kilometres from Noida when a fire broke out, causing panic among the passengers. Upon discovering the fire, some passengers jumped from the moving bus to save their lives. Within a short time, the fire engulfed the entire bus, leaving many trapped inside.
Other drivers passing by on the expressway were also alarmed by the sight of the bus engulfed in flames.
The ill-fated bus was carrying 35 passengers. Many passengers escaped by breaking windows and jumping out.
The bus was travelling from Noida to Mahoba. It belongs to Raj Kalpana Travels. Five fire brigade vehicles arrived upon receiving information about the accident. The fire was extinguished within 45 minutes, but by then the bus was completely engulfed in flames.
A video of the incident has also surfaced, showing the bus engulfed in flames. Upon receiving information, personnel from Jewar Kotwali police arrived at the scene and began investigating the incident.
A passenger said, "I was sleeping when someone woke me up. I didn't take any of my belongings, not even put on my shoes. I just took my phone and went out. It was so crowded that people were pushing each other. I was pushed around, and finally someone pulled me out. I don't remember anything after that. Smoke was everywhere. It was chaos, and it was very difficult to get out. There was so much smoke that nothing could be seen."
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the road accident in Greater Noida. The Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He directed officials to arrange for proper treatment for the injured. He spoke with the families of the deceased and directed officials to provide them all possible assistance. He wished the injured a speedy recovery.
