UP: 2 killed, 2 injured after being crushed by truck

Pratapgarh (UP), May 22 (UNI) Two persons were killed and two others were injured when a motorcycle parked along the road side was crushed by a truck in Raniganj area of Pratapgarh district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Thursday.

Police sources said that the incident took place near Chirkutti at around 1:30 am on Wednesday night, when the motorcycle ran out of petrol and its riders were waiting along the road side. "Meanwhile, a truck coming from Badshahpur crushed four people standing on the roadside," they said.
Police sources said that Neeraj (19) and Vinay (30), both residents of Sansariyapur village under Raniganj police station area, died on the spot, while Ashish Patel and Govind Patel sustained serious injuries in the incident.
Police sources said that on getting information about the incident, Raniganj police station in-charge Arjun Singh reached the spot along with the force and sent the injured to the trauma centre, from where they were referred to the district medical college in a serious condition.
