Haryana Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma highlights ₹1,200 crore ethanol investment, sugar mill modernisation

Panchkula, Sep 22 (UNI) Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said the state is moving towards an investment of around ₹1,200 crore in ethanol projects with a combined capacity of 690 KLPD, as part of efforts to diversify and strengthen the cooperative sugar sector.
Dr. Sharma said steps have already been taken towards an investment of around ₹200 crore in a 90 KLPD ethanol project in Panipat. He said the government would increasingly focus on producing ethanol, electricity, molasses, bagasse, pressmud, bio-CBG and other value-added products alongside sugar to improve the economic viability of cooperative sugar mills and enhance farmers’ returns.
The Cooperation Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is working to make cooperative sugar mills more farmer-friendly, economically viable and technologically modern.
