Officials should expedite the procurement and lifting process of paddy: Kaithal DC Aparajita

Kaithal, Oct 8 (UNI) Kaithal Deputy Commissioner Aparajita visited the extension grain market on Thursday and reviewed the procurement process. She listened to the problems of farmers and commission agents and directed officials to ensure timely procurement and speed up lifting, in accordance with established regulations.
She also directed the Deputy Commissioner's office to access CCTV cameras installed in the market.
She first visited the grain heaps and had the moisture in the paddy tested using three different moisture meters. She also had a bag of paddy weighed using a weighing scale. She then reviewed security arrangements, inspected the control room set up in the market, and even conducted a biometric test on a farmer's produce on the spot.
At the request of commission agents, she also directed an increase in the number of police personnel in the market.
DC Aparajita said that it is the government's priority that farmers' crops are purchased, lifted and paid for on time. Officials of all the concerned agencies should work towards this goal.
Purchase should be done at the minimum support price based on the standards set by the government. Farmers should not face any kind of problem and all the arrangements should be foolproof. Any kind of negligence in this will not be tolerated, she said.
In the markets where there is a problem of internet connectivity or speed, DFSC and DMEO should immediately ensure necessary arrangements.
SDM Sanjay Kumar, DFSC Varinder Singh and other officials were present with her during the inspection.

Live monitoring of markets will be done from the Deputy Commissioner's office through CCTV.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed the secretaries of all market committees in the district to provide access to all CCTV cameras installed in their respective markets to the Deputy Commissioner's office.
The District Information and Technology Officer will establish centralized access to these cameras to effectively monitor market activities.
In another move, to ensure transparency in the arrival and purchase of paddy in the mandis, Deputy Commissioner Aparajita has assigned Class I officers to the mandis.
She said that the concerned officers will inspect their assigned mandis daily. After comparing the arrival of paddy recorded on gate passes with the actual quantity of paddy present in the mandis, they will send a daily report to the Deputy Commissioner's office and the concerned nodal officers.
DC Aparajita held a meeting with officials involved in the procurement process and issued necessary instructions. She stated that no officer or employee involved in the Kharif season will be on leave or leave the headquarters without prior permission.
Regular monitoring of the markets should be maintained and ensure that farmers do not face any problems in selling their crops. No negligence should be allowed in the procurement process.
Under Mandi wise duty, PWD Executive Engineer Division-1 has been given the responsibility of old and new grain market Kaithal, Tehsildar Kaithal has been given the responsibility of additional grain market Kaithal and Baba Ladana, Executive Engineer Irrigation Department has been given the responsibility of Cheeka and Ramthali and Executive Engineer Marketing Board has been given the responsibility of Kalayat Mandi.
The DC directed nodal officers to maintain constant coordination with market committees, rice millers, farmers, and procurement agencies. They should ensure immediate resolution of any issues related to paddy procurement, gate passes, lifting, and other issues. Kaithal SDM Sanjay, Kalayat SDM Ajay Hooda, Guhla SDM Manish Yadav, DFSC Surinder Singh, and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.
