PMDA demolishes two illegal farmhouses, warehouse in Panchkula's Barwala area

Panchkula, Oct 14 (UNI) The Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) on Wednesday demolished two under-construction farmhouses and a warehouse in a crackdown on unauthorised construction in the regulated area of Barwala.
The enforcement team demolished two farmhouses in Rehaur village and a warehouse in Barwala village during a drive conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma and led by District Town Planner Vikram Kumar.
Kumar said the action was aimed at curbing illegal construction and ensuring strict compliance with building regulations in the PMDA-regulated area.
The demolition operation was carried out in the presence of Duty Magistrate Rakesh Kumar, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) Sub-Divisional Officer Mohit Sharma, a PMDA field inspector and a heavy police contingent.
Kumar warned that construction undertaken without prior approval from the competent authority would be treated as illegal and invite action under the applicable laws.
He urged landowners and developers to obtain the necessary permissions before undertaking any construction activity in regulated areas.
The authorities said the drive was part of enforcement measures to prevent unauthorised development and ensure compliance with planning regulations.
