Union Minister reviews Water Conservation initiatives of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board

Jammu, Oct 3 (UNI) union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, V. Somanna, on Saturday reviewed various water conservation and environmental sustainability initiatives being undertaken by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in Katra in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the review meeting, as per the official communique, Alok K. Maurya, Additional CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, briefed the minister on the range of measures being implemented by the Board to conserve water resources and promote environmental sustainability in and around the shrine area.
Maurya apprised the minister of the Board’s initiatives aimed at harvesting rainwater and facilitating groundwater recharge, thereby contributing to the conservation of water resources.

Haryana: Police intensify drug crackdown, arrest 40 in 25 NDPS cases in one month

Panchkula, Oct 6 (UNI) Haryana Police have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking in Hisar, registering 25 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and arresting 40 accused in the past one month, including three cases involving commercial quantities of narcotics, an official said on Tuesday.
