₹15 Crore Drug Haul in Faridabad; Three Foreign Nationals Arrested

Panchkula, Sept 16 (UNI) Haryana Police, in a joint operation with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Delhi, have seized 2.337 kg of cocaine, 26 grams of amphetamine and 1.378 kg of suspected narcotic substance from a rented house in Faridabad and arrested three foreign nationals, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
The narcotic substances have an estimated international-market value of around ₹15 crore, according to the Haryana Police. An amount of ₹50,000 in cash was also seized.
The Haryana Police spokesman said the action was carried out by Crime Branch NIT, Faridabad, along with the NCB Delhi team, during the intervening night of September 15 and 16 following specific information about foreign nationals allegedly possessing narcotics at a house in Lakkarpur, falling under the Surajkund police station area.
Acting on the information, a team headed by Inspector Anil Chhiller, in-charge of Crime Branch NIT, conducted a search of the second floor of House No. 16, Shiv Durga Vihar, Lakkarpur, after obtaining a search warrant. During the search, the teams recovered 2.337 kg cocaine, 26 grams amphetamine, 1.378 kg suspected narcotic substance and ₹50,000 cash.
The substances were examined by the NCB Delhi team and returned positive results for cocaine and amphetamine, the spokesman said.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ifeanyi Emmanuel and Bell John alias Enudun Emmanuel, both Nigerian nationals, and Remy alias Amos Ovie, a citizen of Cameroon. The three were living as tenants in the house. Their passport-related documents are also being verified.
The police have registered a case at Surajkund police station under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act and initiated further investigation. The spokesman said 10 other persons from African countries were also found living on rent at the premises. They allegedly failed to provide satisfactory explanations regarding their documents.
Their documents are being verified through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Delhi. If the documents are found to be invalid or irregular, deportation proceedings will be initiated as per law.
The three arrested accused have been produced before a court and taken on police remand. During interrogation, investigators will probe the source of the cocaine and other narcotics, the supply chain, the network involved and other persons linked to the consignment, the Haryana Police spokesman said.
