Gurugram police recover stolen cash, gold rings; impound 14 vehicles without number plates

Gurugram, October 19 (UNI): Gurugram police have arrested a man in a house theft case and recovered two gold rings and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, impounded 14 vehicles operating without number plates and held a security coordination meeting with residents and accommodation operators, a police spokesman said on Monday.
The accused, Mukesh alias Pungi (21), a resident of Bhagatwara in Sohna, was arrested by the Sohna Crime Branch near Tikona Park on October 18.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged at Fawwara Chowk police post on October 17 regarding the theft of cash and two gold rings from a house in Bhagatwara the previous day. A case was registered at City Sohna police station.
“Two gold rings and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash were recovered from the accused’s possession,” the spokesman said, adding that the investigation was continuing.
In a separate operation on October 18, police teams in Gurugram’s East Zone impounded 14 vehicles found operating without number plates. The drive was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Sandeep Malik.
The spokesman said missing number plates made vehicle identification difficult and could hamper criminal investigations. Similar enforcement drives would continue, he added.
Meanwhile, Sector 50 police held a meeting with representatives of resident welfare associations, paying guest accommodation and guest house operators, managers and security personnel to review local security concerns.
Participants discussed security arrangements in residential complexes and accommodation facilities, visitor monitoring and the prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
The spokesman urged residents, accommodation operators and security guards to maintain regular contact with the police and report suspicious persons or potential security threats without delay.
