Two Rajasthan men arrested in Faridabad in online stock trading fraud

Faridabad, Oct 18 (UNI) Faridabad Police have arrested two Rajasthan residents for allegedly arranging a bank account used to receive proceeds of an Rs 87,000 online stock trading fraud, with part of the money withdrawn through an ATM and routed through the cryptocurrency-linked stablecoin USDT, officials said on Sunday.
The accused, Nahar Singh and Surender Singh, both residents of Rajasthan's Dausa district, were arrested by the NIT Cyber Police Station and remanded to judicial custody.
Police said the investigation revealed that Rs 50,000 of the defrauded amount had been deposited into a bank account belonging to another accused, Neelu Singh, a resident of Motiwara in Rajasthan's Alwar district, who was arrested on June 23.
According to investigators, Nahar Singh and Surender Singh allegedly arranged the account to receive the money, which was subsequently withdrawn through an ATM and transferred further using USDT. With their arrest, three accused have been apprehended in the case.
The case originated from a complaint by a resident of Sanjay Colony in Faridabad's Sector 23, who alleged that an unidentified person contacted him through Facebook on December 11, 2025, posing as a stock market investment expert.
The complainant was promised substantial returns within a short period and added to a WhatsApp group named "C25HDFC", where purported investment opportunities and profits were promoted.
Police said the fraudsters persuaded him to install a suspicious trading application resembling the HDFC brand through a link they provided.
After creating an account on the application, the complainant was allegedly induced to transfer Rs 87,000 in instalments to different bank accounts for purported stock market investments.
Following his complaint, a case was registered at the NIT Cyber Police Station. Investigators traced part of the money to Neelu Singh's account and subsequently identified the alleged involvement of Nahar Singh and Surender Singh in facilitating the transactions.
Further investigation into the financial transactions and the roles of other suspected participants is underway, police said.UNI KK AAB
