Dalmia Bharat Foundation inaugurates new DIKSHa Skill Development Centre in Hardoi

Lucknow, Oct 23 (UNI) Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Dalmia Bharat Limited, inaugurated a new DIKSHa Skill Development Centre in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh on Friday, with an annual training capacity of 360 youth.
The centre will offer courses in Domestic Data Entry Operator, General Duty Assistant and Assistant Electrician, expanding DBF’s efforts to equip youth from local communities with industry-relevant skills and improve their access to employment and self-employment opportunities.
Healthcare support is among India’s most acute workforce gaps, with studies estimating a shortfall of millions of allied health workers.
In a largely rural district like Hardoi, the centre’s courses will give youth formal, certified routes into work. Training in data entry and electrical work adds pathways to digital and administrative jobs and skilled trades, with opportunities to find work or self-employment close to home.
Trained youth can expect to earn Rs 1.25 to 2.5 Lakhs annually.
The centre was inaugurated by T. N. Singh, Unit Head, Ramgarh and Gangapur, DBSIL, and Ashok Kumar Gupta, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation, in the presence of other officials and team members.
The programme was hosted by Ganesh Babu Yadav, Deputy Unit Head, Gangapur, who welcomed the CEO and the dignitaries. The inauguration was attended by 60 students and 15 parents.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok K Gupta, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation, said, “Access to relevant skills and employment opportunities can make a meaningful difference to the economic prospects of young people and their families. Through DIKSHa, our focus is on equipping youth with practical skills that can translate into employment and self-employment opportunities.
"The new centre in Hardoi extends this effort, bringing vocational training closer to local communities and creating pathways for young people to build sustainable livelihoods.”
With the addition of the Hardoi centre, DBF continues to expand its skill development initiatives in Uttar Pradesh.
The state already has three operational DIKSHa centres in Sitapur, Shahjahanpur and Ramgarh Satellite, with a combined annual training capacity of over 1,100 youth.
More than 5,100 youth have been trained under the programme in Uttar Pradesh, with over 70% placed in jobs or settled through self-employment.
Women account for more than 50% of the trainees in the state, highlighting the programme’s focus on inclusive skill development.
Through DIKSHa, Dalmia Bharat Foundation continues to focus on building vocational skills, strengthening employability and creating pathways to sustainable livelihoods for young people, particularly those from underserved communities.
At the national level, DIKSHa operates 32 Skill Development Centres across 11 states with an annual training capacity of over 10,000 youth.
