IIT Kanpur, DRDO hold training on Human-Machine Interaction Design for Defence systems

Kanpur, Sep 11(UNI)The Human Factors and Sociotechnical Systems (HFSS) Studios, Department of Design, IIT Kanpur, in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), conducted a three-day training programme on Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) Design for Interfaces in Defence Applications at IIT Kanpur.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by the Guest of Honour, Prof. Jayandharan G. Rao, Dean of Research and Development, IIT Kanpur, who described the programme as an important step that would significantly benefit the country’s defence ecosystem. Scientists from various DRDO laboratories under the Electronics and Communication Systems (ECS) cluster attended the training programme. The programme was led by Prof. Vivek Kant, Associate Professor, IIT Kanpur.
The sessions covered the fundamentals of Human-Machine Interaction, along with hands-on training in interface design and usability evaluation for mission-critical defence systems. Human-Machine Interaction is a field that focuses on designing usable interfaces that effectively support operational requirements. In this programme, the emphasis was on designing interfaces for complex defence equipment and systems to support Indian soldiers and defence personnel during field operations.

Haryanvi singer faces arms licence cancellation after daughter seen carrying revolver at university
