The bulletin outlined the possible health effects associated with different AQI categories. According to the classification provided, good air quality has minimal health impact, while satisfactory air quality may cause minor breathing discomfort to sensitive people. Moderate air quality can cause breathing discomfort for people with lung diseases, asthma, and heart ailments. Poor air quality can cause breathing discomfort in most people with prolonged exposure, while very poor air quality may lead to respiratory illness.
Severe air quality can affect healthy people and seriously impact those with existing diseases.
Of the 33 locations listed in Thursday's bulletin, two were in the poor category, 24 in the moderate category, five in the satisfactory category and two in the good category. No location recorded air quality in the very poor or severe categories. The bulletin clarified that where a city has multiple air quality monitoring locations, the reported AQI represents the average of those locations. UNI KK NST
