'Abe Memorial Corridor' will tell the story of the Modi-Abe friendship and India-Japan relations; Akie Abe, CM Yogi inaugurate centre

Varanasi, Oct 7 (UNI) The 'Abe Memorial Corridor,' dedicated to India-Japan friendship and cultural ties, was inaugurated at the Rudraksh Convention Center on Wednesday by Akie Abe, wife of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The photo gallery at the Rudraksh Convention Center displays memories related to India-Japan relations and the friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the late Shinzo Abe.
On this occasion, Akie Abe said that she was feeling very emotional and expressed her gratitude to everyone. Memories related to her husband have been preserved at the gallery.
She said that Kashi and Kyoto have many similarities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and her husband shared thoughts, and today the Rudraksh Convention Center and the Abe Memorial Corridor bring to the fore the memories of that friendship.
She said that in 2015, her husband had come to the banks of the Ganges with Prime Minister Modi and had observed the Ganga Aarti with great attention. After returning to Japan, her husband had shared memories of Kashi.
At that time, she too had a desire to visit Kashi. She wanted to come to Varanasi and see all these things with her own eyes, and today her wish has been fulfilled.
Akie Abe said that she is very happy that the corridor has been built in her husband's memory. If he were alive today, he would have been emotional to see it.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in honor of India's close friend and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Akie Abe had the opportunity to inaugurate the Memorial Corridor built in his honor at the Rudraksh Convention Center and dedicate it to the public.
"This is also a humble tribute to Shinzo Abe from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 1.4 billion Indians." He said that this corridor is a living symbol of Shinzo Abe's cultural commitment and policies. "Rudraksha is also a symbol of the friendship between India and Japan. Japan gave Kashi a Rudraksha, and today Kashi permanently preserves the memory of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in that Rudraksha."

CM Yogi said that Japan has technology, India has talent, and Japan has experience, and India has youthful energy. The friendship between the two leaders gave a new direction to the relationship between the two countries.
He said that in 2021, Shinzo Abe was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, a symbol of respect for a true friend. In 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally traveled to Tokyo to bid his friend a final farewell. National mourning was observed throughout India. This was not just a matter of protocol, but an expression of the relationship between the two countries.
Earlier in the morning, the two-day 'Namo Book Fest', featuring over 500 books written on the life, policies, works, and governance model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was also inaugurated at the Rudraksha Convention Center.
