Every Deepotsav diya supports a potter, farmer and family: Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, Nov 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday highlighted the economic significance of Ayodhya's grand Deepotsav, saying that every diya lit during the festival supports the hard work of potters, the produce of farmers and the livelihood of local families.
In a post on social media platform X ahead of his arrival in Ayodhya, the Chief Minister said the grand Deepotsav of Shri Ayodhya Dham is giving fresh momentum to the economy alongside strengthening faith.
"Every diya lit here is bringing new light to the hard work of a potter, the produce of a farmer and the livelihood of a family," he wrote.
Adityanath said that before 2017, no significant initiative had been taken to connect Ayodhya's cultural potential with the economic prosperity of local artisans, farmers and small traders.
He accused the previous governments of lacking vision to transform the strength of faith into new livelihood opportunities.
He credited the Centre and Uttar Pradesh governments with promoting Deepotsav as a platform for generating livelihood and business opportunities for potters, workers and small traders and said, "The double-engine government has dispelled this darkness.Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the festival, illuminated by lakhs of diyas, is creating new opportunities for local communities."
"The very diya that illuminates Ram Nagari also kindles hopes of prosperity in the home of a hardworking family. Such is the spirit of our Deepotsav," the Chief Minister added.
He said the festival has emerged as an occasion that combined religious and cultural celebrations with economic opportunities for local communities.
