Jammu AIIMS caters to over 1,500 OPD patients daily: Director

Jammu, Sep 23 (UNI)Director and CEO of AIIMS Vijaypur (Jammu), Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sinha, said on Wednesday that the institute records an average daily Outpatient Department (OPD) footfall of around 1,500 patients, with the number ranging between 1,000 and 2,000. The hospital caters to patients from across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, and also draws patients from New Delhi.
Interacting with a delegation of media persons from Bhopal visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur, Samba, to gain first-hand insight into the premier institute’s infrastructure, clinical advancements, academic programs, and patient-centric innovations as part of an exposure and media tour organized by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Dr Sinha provided an overview of the hospital’s expanding clinical footprint and highlighted that the institute is structured with a 750-bed capacity, including 650 fixed beds, modern modular operation theatres, a fully equipped emergency medicine block, and an integrated AYUSH Centre.
He shared that the hospital is currently recording an average daily Outpatient Department (OPD) footfall of 1,000 to 2,000 patients—averaging around 1,500 daily—catering not only to residents across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh, but also drawing patients from New Delhi.
