World Patient Safety Day observed at Civil Hospital Kangra

Kangra, Sep 16 (UNI) World Patient Safety Day 2026 was observed at Civil Hospital Kangra on Wednesday, with doctors, nursing staff and other healthcare workers participating in the programme.
Dr. Alpna Kaistha Senior Medical Officer Civil Hospital Kangra told UNI that this year’s World Patient Safety Day was observed today with the theme “Safe care for noncommunicable diseases” and the slogan “Safe care for life!”
She said that the World Health Organisation, through this year’s theme, has emphasised the importance of safe, coordinated and patient-centred healthcare services for people living with non-communicable diseases.
During the programme, healthcare workers were sensitised about ensuring patient safety, taking necessary precautions during treatment and providing quality and safe healthcare services.
Dr Alpna said patient safety was an integral part of healthcare and a collective responsibility of all healthcare professionals, including doctors and nursing staff.
